I received an email from a citizen in the county who then called me to talk about Roughrider Road in Center. Honestly, when she told me how bad it was, I did not believe her. I went out there yesterday with my camera so that I could make sure that Kendra (the lady from the TQEC/EPA) could see them too. I was SHOCKED! My ravine looks clean in comparison to this mess. I would like to ask why we can't place some signs in "hot spots" such as this or even have police monitor these locations just a little closer than any other? When I say these pictures don't do justice...I am not telling a lie. This road looks like a landfill.

I just found out from the EPA lady that there will be citations written to the county for this dump site too. The lady actually said this was "far worse that I could have imagined!" This came from a lady who drives and sees trash all the time. That should tell someone that this is really getting bad. She will be CCing me on all reports and I plan to post them here.
ReplyDeleteIf they can pay citations why in the world can they not pay to create a dump cite?
I live on FM 2974, which is off of 1001.(upper arcadia) I also use this road to get to Walmart, just really to avoid the traffic light, and congestion on Hurst st. I have complained to deputies about the garbage, but was told that even if it was picked up, where would they take it? We no longer have an incenerator. I hope that the city/county officials will make this project a priority. It is embarrassing to have people traveling thru and around Center and for them to see all the over grown, trash filled properties here. I hope that this will get them talking and motivated to make things better.
